06 Jun Year 2 visit Hever Castle!
The children in Year 2 were very excited to visit Hever Castle as the Engage part of their new topic Towers, Tunnels and Turrets.
Before visiting the children started learning about all the different parts of a castle and the people who lived there in the past.
They were keen to see and identify each of these features as they walked around the castle. Everyone entered the castle by walking across the drawbridge, which went over the moat. We were fortunate enough to have a private guided tour of the castle. The tour guides were really impressed with everyone’s listening skills and the thoughtful questions the children asked, showing a deep level of understanding.
What an amazing day we had!
We can’t wait to use our new knowledge to build our own castles, indoors and outside. Watch out for our update.
A huge thank you to Beddington Buddies (PTA) for their very generous help with the cost of the trip.
