The children in Year 2 have enjoyed being historians, learning about London in the past. They read lots of books and watched short clips to learn about The Great Fire of London. In small groups, they used role play to show how the fire started and how people responded to the fire in 1666. The children looked at the sources of evidence we have about The Great Fire of London, such as artwork and Samuel Pepys diary. They then created their own Great Fire of London inspired artwork using a range of techniques, such as paint wash and collage. Finally they used all their new knowledge to write a diary just like Samuel Pepys!
