12 Jun What an amazing trip to Hever Castle!
The children in Year 2 were delighted to visit Hever Castle as the Engage part of their new topic Towers, Tunnels and Turrets. The children learned about all the different parts of a castle and the people who lived there in the past.
To enter the castle we walked across the drawbridge, which went over the moat. We were fortunate enough to have a private guided tour of the castle. The tour guides were really impressed with everyone’s listening skills and the thoughtful questions the children asked, showing a deep level of understanding.
“What a lovely group! The children were very engaged and extremely well behaved throughout the tour . It was a real pleasure being their guide and I am glad that they enjoyed their visit to Hever Castle” – Kerry (Tour Guide)
“Beddington paid us their annual visit yesterday. As ever, they were interested, inquisitive, well-behaved, and a joy to take round the Castle” – Peter (Tour Guide)
We all had an amazing day!
We can’t wait to use our new knowledge to build our own castles!
A huge thank you to Beddington Buddies for their very generous help with the cost of the trip.
