28 Jun Learning about our Postal Service (Nursery & Year 2)
In Nursery we like to find out about what some of our grown ups do for jobs.
This week we were lucky enough to have a postal worker visit us. He came with uniform for us to try on and postal bags and sacks for us to explore. He told us about the process a letter goes through as it is delivered and all the different aspects of the job of a postal worker. After school Mrs Ludlam took all our letters and posted them in the post box. We are looking forward to receiving them soon!
Our special visitor was kind enough to pop into Year 2 as well. There, he was able to find out what the children already knew about the postal services. He talked to the children about post codes and how the mail is sorted before it is delivered. They had lots of questions about his job and how much post there is to deliver each day.
Thank you very much to Mr Roffe for visiting we really enjoyed it and learned lots of new things about how post reaches our letterboxes.
