04 Jul Hampton Court Flower Show
For the second year running Beddington Infants’ School have taken part in the Hampton Court Flower Show, Scarecrow Competition. The Gardening Club submitted a design based on the theme ‘You are what you eat’. We were delighted when our entry was accepted. Lots of children and adults in school contributed to creating ‘Our beautiful 5 a-day butterfly’, based on a very well known caterpillar!
On Monday 2nd July the children who have been part of Gardening Club this term went to the flower show to see our scarecrow on display. We had an amazing day! We looked at all the other scarecrow entries, learnt about flowers and plants in the plant marquee and planted our own seeds to bring home.
Everyone who goes to the Hampton Court Flower Show can vote for their favourite scarecrow by placing coins in the boxes attached to each scarecrow – we all knew which one was our favourite!
