18 Nov Great Year 2 Bake Off!
As part of our History focus this half term, we learn about The Great Fire of London. Bravely, we turned our classrooms into bakeries and we rolled our sleeves up to bake some delicious, fresh, soft bread. The children really enjoyed all the processes involved and fully embraced the learning experiences that this activity provided. What a brilliant way to create a cross-curricular learning experience that helps us understand more about measuring, History, DT and even involves a bit of fine and gross motor development as we used our muscles to shape our dough into beautiful plaits and buns! Everyone loved our day of baking in Year 2 and we couldn’t wait to taste our fresh-smelling lovely breads. Children then took the recipe home so they could share the experience with their families.
