01 Mar Design Technology in Year 2

As part of their Moon Zoom topic, Year 2 evaluated existing models of space vehicles and explored the features of real vehicles used in space.  Then as a group they agreed design criteria for making their own model space vehicles. Each child created their own plan incorporating moving wheels, a seat, a tool box, a flag and a communication device. The children were then pleased to invite their grown-ups into school to help them build their space vehicles. More grown-ups joined us in the afternoon when we added finishing touches. It was a great way to end our topic!
