21 Oct Amazing Amphibians visit Beddington Infants’ School
A huge thank you to June and Barry Williams for arranging and funding a visit from Anna who rehomes animals at The Dragon Shelter.
The children in Year 1 and Year 2 were excited to meet lizards, iguanas, bearded dragons, snakes, a cockatoo and a parrot, all who are cared for by The Dragon Shelter. Anna explained what each animal needs to stay healthy and happy. Then everybody who wanted to, had a chance to hold, touch and make friends with all the amazing animals she had brought with her. Some children who were reluctant initially changed their minds throughout the session.
Gibby, the cockatoo, showed us how well he was able to fly now that his new wing feathers have grown. He also danced as the children sang for him. Chadley, the very large iguana, made himself at home wandering about, but stood patiently as all children who wanted to, stroked him. Children and adults really enjoyed the visit! Thank you animals, Anna, Barry and June.
