14 Oct Adult Focus Learning in Reception
Last week the children in Reception started their Adult Focus learning. These short tasks give pupils the opportunity to work in a small group with an adult to practice and develop key skills in English and Maths. These group sessions happen while the rest of the children learn independently in the well planned learning environment, inside and outside. As with all things, balance is the key.
In English we have been reading the story ‘Peepo’ and have discussed the different settings of the story. We have then been looking at initial sounds for these key words and practiced our letter formation.
In Maths we have been looking at ‘one more’ and have been exploring different ways this can be represented, such as with objects, pictorially and as a number sentence e.g. 4 + 1 = 5.
