At Beddington Infants’ School we have a special group of superheroes to help us understand British Values! We celebrate these values in our assemblies, through stories about the Superheroes and how they help children in school and in the local community!

Prevent duty and British values
From 1 July 2015 the Prevent duty became law. This is a duty on all schools to have due regard to preventing people being drawn into terrorism. In order to protect our children, staff have had training on how to become aware of any reason for concern in a child’s life at home or elsewhere. This includes awareness of the expression of extremist views.
British values are a set of four values introduced to help keep children safe and promote their welfare.
According to the guidance from the DfE, the fundamental British values which schools should promote are:
– Democracy.
– The rule of law.
– Individual liberty.
– Mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
Beddington Infants’ School has a group of incredible heroes to help our children learn and celebrate these values, through our assemblies, class displays and curriculum.
